Abstract: This paper resolves the nomenclatural ambiguity between two orthographic variants,
Artemisia austrohimalayana Y.R.Ling & H.S.Puri and A. austrohimalayensis Y.R.Ling &  H.S.Puri, both published in 1988 as replacement names for the illegitimate name A. tenuifolia Y.R.Ling & H.S.Puri. Due to the inconsistent usage in literature, Article 61.3 of the ICN is applied here and accordingly A. austrohimalayensis is accepted as the correct name, with A. austrohimalayana treated as its homotypic synonym.

Key Words: Artemisia, Asteraceae, Himalaya, Orthographic error
